The World Hydrogen Technologies Convention (WHTC) is one of the best known conventions in the fields of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology. It is an event where the latest advances, challenges and opportunities for hydrogen-based solutions throughout the entire value chain were shared. That was a very good opportunity to present the HYDEA outputs at this event that held from 21 to 23 October 2025 in Dublin.
Victoria Leon Carpintero from EnergyLab presented in a poster some of the work that is done among HYDEA on developing technological solutions for methanol production and the incorporation of hydrogen as a fuel in vehicles.
The University of Galway participated in force at the WHTC and showcased ongoing research supporting Ireland’s emerging hydrogen ecosystem, including HYDEA. The team was delighted to deliver:
- Two key presentations:
- SH2AMROCK and HYDEA – Building Momentum for Ireland’s First Hydrogen Valley (by Prof. Rory Monaghan)
- Strategic CCUS and Green Hydrogen Value Chain Design for Sustainable Synthetic Fuels Production: An Irish Case Study (by Dr. Haresh Jayasankar)
- Two posters:
- Assessing Ports as H₂ Energy Hubs: A Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis Framework (by Arjun Bopiah)
- Can Ireland become a global exporter of green hydrogen? (by Fatemeh Dadashidooki).
